This Shiny Caddis Larva is more of an attractor style nymph and is probably not taken as a caddis but as an interesting looking snack.
Tied on a nymph hook in sizes 16 to 12 with a brass bead, it is a simple pattern pimped out with a small, colourful, reflective ‘wing case’ and a little red butt.
As with most of this style of fly, it’s attractive to almost all river and stream species including Chub.
